Trudo was recently awarded The Susan K. Hillman Scholarship presented by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers’ Association. Trudo, a native of Essex Junction, Vt., is entering his second year with the Northern Arizona Sports Medicine staff as a graduate assistant.
OGDEN, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced its 2016-17 Scholar-Athlete Award winners today with football’s Patrick Baldenegro and women’s basketball’s Rene Coggins picking up the top honors for Northern Arizona. OGDEN, Utah – For the second time in four years, and the fourth time in school history, the Northern Arizona University Athletics Department swept the Big Sky Men's and Women's All-Sports Trophies, announced by the conference office on Monday. FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Among the nearly 5,000 Northern Arizona University graduates this weekend will be 44 Lumberjack student-athletes, who will receive their diplomas during the commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday in the Walkup Skydome. The 17th Annual Lumberjack Golf Classic – hosted by the Lumberjack Athletic Association and OneAZ Credit Union – raised $32,545.96 for Lumberjack student-athlete scholarships on Saturday, April 29th! The $32,545.96 mark, a 30% increase from 2016, for NAU student-athlete scholarships was an all-time high for support generated from the Lumberjack Golf Classic.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Senior distance runner Futsum Zienasellassie and sophomore diver Tanya Kurach were among the big winners at Monday night's Fourth Annual Louie's Awards hosted by the Northern Arizona Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Zienasellassie and Kurach were named the Male and Female Athletes of the Year respectively at the end-of-year awards show at NAU's Prochnow Auditorium.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona Coaches Caravan is coming to a town near you this May. The Lumberjacks will make appearances in South Phoenix, San Diego, Orange County, and North Phoenix to spread the Lumberjack spirit through the state of Arizona and California. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Arizona University’s NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 84 leads the Big Sky Conference, according to a national report released Tuesday. The NCAA developed the GSR for Division I institutions in 2002 in response to college and university presidents who wanted more accurate graduation data. NAU’s rate is the second-highest in the state of Arizona amongst the Regent institutions.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona University Athletics Department has once again made community service a vital part of the Lumberjack experience. NAU student-athletes and staff continue to make their imprint in the Flagstaff community and beyond as the athletes have performed a record 5,428 hours of total community service hours breaking last year’s mark of 5,327. In addition, the Lumberjack staff registered 1,115 community service hours to make it a department-wide effort.
