Cherisse Kutyreff begins her first year as the Director of Sports Medicine and her sixth year at Northern Arizona University after previously serving as an assistant athletic trainer. As Director of Sports Medicine she will oversee the healthcare of NAU Football and the operations of the Department of Sports Medicine.
She worked primarily with track and field and cross country her first two years with the Lumberjacks, and for the past 3 seasons has worked with the Women's Basketball program.
Last year, Kutyreff was honored by the College and University Athletic Trainers Association with the 2012 New Horizon Award. In 2013, the NAU Athletic Training Education Program awarded her the Tom Lyle Award for Athletic Training Excellence. She is currently serving as a representative on the National Athletic Trainers Association Young Professionals Committee, and is an active member of the AZATA and RMATA.
Kutyreff is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and is an Arizona Licensed Athletic Trainer.
Kutyreff joined the staff from New Mexico and earned her bachelor of science in athletic training in 2008 from New Mexico State University. She completed her master of education in education leadership in 2010 at NAU.
