Jim MacIntyre joined the Athletic Department in November 2009 as an accounting specialist responsible for P-Cards and travel reporting and documentation.
Jim began his college career at the University of Oklahoma, but was drafted in his second semester and entered the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Most of his time was spent with the Marine Corps. In Vietnam he was assigned with the 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Medical Battalion MASH Unit in DaNang. Upon leaving Vietnam he was stationed with the 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton where he was attached to Navy Medical Supply.
After leaving the Navy, Jim obtained a degree in finance and accounting at Cal-State Fullerton. After graduation, he was recruited by Ernst and Ernst where he obtained his CPA certification. After leaving Ernst and Ernst, he had his own CPA practice and subsequently became a Partner in two different firms, one in California and one in Arizona.
Jim and his family have a long history with NAU. His son, Tim, graduated from NAU Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Chemistry and Geology. Tim currently works in Africa for Ivanhoe Minerals as a Regional Manager. His wife, Becky works for NAU in Residence Life and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from NAU. Scott, his youngest son, was a trader and graduated from the University of Arizona. He currently works for Grand Canyon University.
Jim received his MBA from NAU and also taught accounting, part time, at the College of Business.
Jim's hobbies are soccer, which he has coached for 17 years and refereed for 10 years, reading and golf. He has worked in the community with the Boy Scouts, Flagstaff Soccer Club, AYSO and the Rotary.
