(Track and Field, 1982-87)
Angela Chalmers was a 1988 and 1992 Olympian. Representing Canada, she ran the 1,500 meters at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, and captured the Bronze Medal in the 3,000 meters at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. She was the NCAA Champion in Cross Country in 1986. She Competed at Northern Arizona University when the Lady Jacks were Members of the Mountain West Conference, prior to merging with the Big Sky Conference. In District 7 NCAA competition, Chalmers ran second in 1985, finishing first in 1986. During the 1985 Cross Country season, she ran eighth at the National Meet and in the Track and Field competition, she received six All-America honors. In outdoor National meets, she placed fifth in the 1,550 meters in 1984, second in the 3,000 meters in 1985, and during the 1987 season, she was third in the 1,500 meters and fifth in the 3,000 meters. During the indoor season she was third in the mile in 1985 and second in 1987. She presently holds NAU's indoor record in the 1,500 meter run. She has the top five indoor marks in the event at NAU. She also holds three Outdoor records at NAU-800 meters, 1,5000 meters and 3,000 meters.
