Wyatt was a four-year starter at quarterback for the Lumberjacks, leading the Jacks to a back-to-back 7-4 seasons in 1986-87. A the time of his induction he still held all of NAU's career passing marks, including attempts (1,512), completions (926), completion percentage (61.2), yards (10,697) and touchdowns (70). He also held NCAA Division I-AA records for most attempts by a freshman (392), most completions by a freshman (250), and most passes completed in freshman and sophomore seasons (518). Wyatt was an honorable mention All-America by the Associated Press, UPI and the Football Gazette as a senior. He also participated in the All-America Classic post-season all-star game. As a sophomore Wyatt was first team All-America by the NFL Draft Report and second team All-America by the Sports Network, Walter Camp, Football News and the Associated Press.
