BRYAN CLAY LIVE RESULTS | BEACH INVITATIONAL RESULTS | MT. SAC RELAYS RESULTS
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona University track and field program will compete at three national meets in the Los Angeles area this weekend. The Lumberjacks will be at Azusa Pacific University's Bryan Clay Invitational, Long Beach State's Beach Invitational and the Mt. Sac Relays, Thursday through Saturday.
The throwing unit will have athletes competing at The Beach Invitational and Mt. Sac Relays while the rest of the team (including sprints, jumps and distance) will be at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
"The schedule has us tuned up and excited for this weekend," director of track and field Michael Smith said. "We have some athletes ready for some big marks. We're looking forward to being on the road with a full roster, propelling us forward towards the championships season."
Action gets underway with Tiana Hatler-Stefick and Brooke Andersen in women's hammer throw events at the Mt. Sac Relays at 12:30 p.m. MST on Thursday. It will be followed with a brief track schedule at the Bryan Clay Invitational that runs from 2:55 p.m. MST to approximately 9 p.m. MST.
The heart of the action is on Friday with more throwers competing at Long Beach State throughout the day while the Bryan Clay Invitational has a full slate of events across all disciplines from 8 a.m. MST through 9:05 p.m.
Action wraps up with the throwers competing throughout the day on Saturday.
The distance group will be one to watch as All-Americans Matt Baxter, Peter Lomong and Paige Gilchrist all make their outdoor season debuts. Sprinter Jasmine Malone is another athlete to keep an eye on this weekend along with standout thrower Andersen.
Overall it will be the most action the team has seen as a complete unit so far this season.
Northern Arizona has just two regular season meets left before the Big Sky Outdoor Championships, May 8-11 at the University of Idaho.
