Three Academic All-Americans Presented by ESPN the Magazine Honored

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona University’s three current Academic All-Americans were honored Thursday night at the women’s basketball game at the Walkup Skydome.

Over the last two semesters, track and field’s David McNeill, women’s golfer Ali Carter and soccer’s Kristi Andreassen (on-drey-a-suhn) have all been honored in their respective sports as Academic All-Americans presented by ESPN the Magazine as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Andreassen has 4.00 GPA in exercise science. She has led the soccer program to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. Carter was selected for the prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarship last year. She finished her career with a 3.99 GPA in elementary education. McNeill, who was recognized as the student-athlete of the year in the sport of cross country earlier this week, has a 3.75 GPA in exercise science.

NAU has had 26 student-athletes chosen for Academic All-America honors in school history, accumulating 31 honors since 1977.
