NCAA Athletics

Intercollegiate athletics provide a sense of pride and a great rallying point for all Northern Arizona University students, faculty and staff and the Flagstaff community.

NAU, a member of the Big Sky Conference, sponsors 15 NCAA Division I level athletic programs.

The Northern Arizona University athletics department recorded its highest cumulative grade point average since 1997, recording a 3.16 GPA among its more than 300 student-athletes at the completion of the fall of 2009 semester.

NAU ranked among the top 100 for the sixth time in the last seven seasons and 11th overall in the last 13 years in the NACDA Directors Cup All-Sports standings, a national all-sports competition.

Show your school spirit and join the excitement at football and men's and women's basketball games in the Walkup Skydome, the second largest wooden dome structure in the United States. NAU also runs a complete indoor track and field schedule in the Dome, while the soccer, swimming and diving and outdoor track and field programs have on-campus facilities. The golf and tennis teams compete and practice at local venues in and around Flagstaff.
