FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Northern Arizona University Athletics has reached a ground breaking multi-year partnership with MoneyRadio 1510 AM and 99.3 FM to broadcast NAU football and men's basketball games in the Phoenix area.
"We are excited about this partnership with MoneyRadio 1510 AM and 99.3 FM which will enable us to showcase our incredible University and rising athletic program to our Phoenix fan base," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Lisa Campos. "This is another step toward elevating NAU Athletics while reaching our great alum in Phoenix who have been requesting an increase of NAU sports coverage."
MoneyRadio's coverage of NAU Athletics will begin this weekend as the Lumberjacks host North Dakota on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Walkup Skydome.
"We're so pleased to be the home for NAU Football and Men's Basketball in Phoenix," said Brian DuBose, Vice President of Programming and Operations for MoneyRadio 1510 AM and 99.3 FM. "We believe that they have long deserved a place here in the Valley and we're excited about our partnership."
Since 1988, KFNN-AM (now MoneyRadio 1510 AM and 99.3 FM) has provided an innovative brand of news/talk radio serving the metropolitan Phoenix market on air as the only simulcast station on AM and FM.
"We are thrilled to hear that our games will now be broadcast in the valley. Maricopa County is the home of nearly half of our football team and now that our games can be picked up by family, friends and fans is nothing short of amazing! This is a historic move to connect the successes student-athletes of Arizona have achieved while attending Northern Arizona University."
- Head Football Coach Jerome Souers
"Getting back on the Phoenix airwaves is a huge step forward for our athletics department in general and our men's basketball program specifically. Phoenix is a vital area in our recruiting efforts and holds the highest concentration of NAU alumni and fans!"
- Head Men's Basketball Coach Jack Murphy
"I'm seriously pumped that the NAU Lumberjacks are going to be available on FM radios in our cars, our homes or anywhere in Phoenix on MoneyRadio. This means a lot to those of us who bleed Lumberjack blue and gold, those of us who are alums of NAU or the many people I know in the Valley who are fans of the Jacks!"
- Former NAU and NFL Quarterback Travis Brown
"I was very excited to find out that NAU games would be broadcast in the valley. It will be awesome to be able to follow the Jacks play-by-play when they are on the road or when we can't make it up north to see their home games. It is another way that alumni and future Lumberjacks can get to know the players a little better. The additional exposure in Phoenix will be very positive for NAU in so many ways. I look forward to listening to the Jacks on the radio!"
- Former NAU Kicker Dr. Terry Belden
