FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona has been known to produce some very talented football players, and this past season isn't any different. The NFL Draft was a little over a week ago, but there are still some former Lumberjacks looking for a home with a professional team.
Scottsdale native Andy "Wildman" Wilder wants to take his kicking abilities to the NFL as he hopes to land a roster spot with any of the league teams. Wilder's most recent tryout was with the Indianapolis Colts. Although Wilder did not gain a roster spot, he's continuing to work hard as he looks to find a home with an NFL team.
"It went well, and it was a great experience," said Wilder. "They really liked my punting, but I need to work on my kickoffs a little more. I went 10-for-10 on field goals, and closed out camp pretty well."
While Wilder has yet to sign with a team, that will not deter the punter/kicker from training to improve his game until another chance comes along.
NAU already has one player from its 2013 roster with an NFL team, and that's all-time rusher Zach Bauman, who signed a free agent deal with the Arizona Cardinals earlier this month.
