Rickert Named to CFPA FCS Awards Tight End Watch List

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Northern Arizona's RJ Rickert has earned a spot on the 2014 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS Awards Tight End Watch List, announced the organization today.

Rickert, an All-American last season, caught 22 passes for a total of 246 yards. The First Team All-BigSky honoree played in 11 games and led all tight ends in receiving yards.

"Congratulations to RJ Rickert on earning a spot on this year's watch list," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Rickert will likely be a highly productive tight end for Head Coach Jerome Souers in 2014."

The initial watch list includes 36 tight ends, vying for the top tight end award in the Football Championship Subdivision. All players are eligible for awards at their respective positions; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration.

The full list of 2014 CFPA winners will be announced January 14, 2015.
