FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona junior guard Quinton Upshur has been named the Big Sky Player of the Week, announced today by the league office. Upshur has also been recognized as the College Sports Madness Mid-Major and Big Sky Player of the Week.
Upshur was unstoppable this past week as he led NAU to a road sweep at Idaho State and conference leader Weber State. He averaged 27.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game, as he shot 47.2 percent from the floor to lead the charge this week.
In the win at Idaho State, Upshur went 8-for-15 from the floor and shot 72.7 percent from long range to connect on a career-high eight made three-pointers. He finished with 28 points and three rebounds.
In the upset win at Weber State, Upshur led all players with 26 points and shot 42.9 percent from the floor. Upshur had 21 points heading into overtime. He scored all of NAU's points in overtime, including the game winning three-pointer that snapped a 27 home game win streak in conference play by the Wildcats.
This is Upshur's second career Big Sky and first Mid-Major Player of the Week honor.
