Ramadier Earns Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week Award

OGDEN, Utah – After leading Northern Arizona to a 7-0 sweep of Idaho State on Monday, sophomore Hugo Ramadier has been named Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. The award is the first of the season for Ramadier and the NAU men's tennis program.

Ramadier has paced the team at No. 1 singles all season and picked up his fourth singles win of the year on Monday. The sophomore from Rome, Italy battled Idaho State's Danel Barrenechea at the top singles position, cruising to a 6-1, 6-3 victory. At No. 1 doubles, Ramadier paired with Lumberjack junior Josh Brown for an 8-6 win over Idaho State's Diego Cavalcanti and Dakota Pate, as NAU was perfect on the day in both singles and doubles. Ramadier, who was an All-Big Sky second team selection as a freshman in 2010, improved to 2-0 in both singles and doubles in Big Sky play this season.

The Lumberjacks return to action on Friday, starting a weekend of road matches at Santa Clara, Nevada and Sacramento State.
