LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Senior Robin Pezzutto won his third doubles match of the weekend on Day 3 of the UNLV Fall Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. After previously teaming with junior Shaun Waters and senior Ben Lantz on the first two days, Pezzutto paired with junior Patrick Schimmelbauer on Sunday to defeat Cledson Carvalho and Nathan Martinet of Fresno Pacific, 8-3.
Waters and senior Josh Brown also won their doubles match on Sunday, giving the NAU men's tennis team two doubles win on the final day which equaled their total from the first two days combined.
The Lumberjacks once again struggled during singles competition, producing just one combined singles victory between the team, as was the case on Friday and Saturday. Junior Chris Fasulo made his 2011 fall debut, defeating Fresno Pacific's Travis Johnson, 6-1, 6-0.
The Lumberjacks finished the UNLV Fall Invitational at just 3-16 in singles play, but 4-5 in doubles action. They have the next week off before returning to the court for the ITA All-Americans from October 1-3.
