Coach Kroll Brings In Three Players From Overseas
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – After a successful first season under head coach Ki Kroll, the Northern Arizona men’s tennis team has added three new players to their roster in Tomas Hons, Felix Schumann and Adi Zilberstein for the upcoming 2014-15 season.

NAU Athletics Wins Back-to-Back Big Sky Presidents’ Cup
OGDEN, Utah – For the second straight year, Northern Arizona Athletics has captured the Big Sky Presidents’ Cup presented by Red Lion Hotels. NAU finished first in overall in athletic points for the second consecutive year, in addition to claiming the Big Sky Men’s and Women’s All-Sports Trophies in May.

NAU Captures Men’s and Women’s Big Sky All-Sports Trophy
OGDEN, Utah – Northern Arizona has captured both the men’s and women’s Big Sky All-Sports Trophies, the conference office announced Monday. The Lumberjacks went into the outdoor track championship with the lead, and a sweep by the men’s and women’s teams this past weekend secured NAU the win on both sides. The sweep is the first true sweep by any school since 2000-01.

Women’s Tennis and Swimming & Diving Rank in Top 10 Percent
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Arizona women’s tennis and swimming & diving were both honored by the NCAA for earning Public Recognition Awards, based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate. These awards are given each year to teams with APRs in the top 10 percent in each sport. This is the second straight year women’s tennis has received the honor.

Forty-Three Student-Athletes to Receive Degrees This Weekend
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Forty-three Northern Arizona student-athletes will receive their degrees from the university this weekend as part of the Spring 2014 commencement ceremonies. When adding in the 15 student-athletes who participated in the Fall 2013 commencement ceremonies, the NAU Athletics Department produced a total of 58 graduates for the 2013-14 academic year.

2014 NAU Men’s Tennis Recap
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – It was a complete turnaround from the 2013 season to the 2014 season for the Northern Arizona men’s tennis team. In his first year leading the Lumberjacks, head coach Ki Kroll brought in a new attitude and led NAU to a 13-9 record, its most wins since the 2010 season.

Men’s Tennis Advances in Big Sky Champions with 4-1 Win
GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The Northern Arizona men’s tennis team never gave up in any match when they were down this season and today was no different in the Big Sky Championship quarterfinals. After trailing 1-0 after doubles play, the Lumberjacks fought back sweeping singles against Northern Colorado and NAU moves on to the semifinals with a 4-1 win over the Bears.

Jacobsen, Smith Named Golden Eagle Top Scholar-Athletes
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona University Athletics Department held its 36th annual Golden Eagle Awards Tuesday at the High Country Conference Center to recognize its student-athletes for their stellar work in the classroom. Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc., honored 199 Lumberjack student-athletes for their scholastic and athletic accomplishments. The award recognizes student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona men’s tennis team played its third straight match in Tucson to start out the season, this time facing Gonzaga. The Lumberjacks received singles wins from junior Jordan Gobatie, freshman Fabio Tomasetti and junior Kester Black but the Lumberjacks fell short to the Bulldogs 4-3. Play was delayed three hours due to rain in Tucson.

The Lumberjacks are coming off their first win of the season against UC Riverside in Tucson last weekend. Junior Alan Barrios clinched the win for NAU to give the Lumberjacks a 4-3 win and give first year head coach Ki Kroll his first win at Northern Arizona.

The invitational featured some tough competition from the southwest and the Lumberjacks competed very well making head coach Ki Kroll proud of the team’s effort and improvement throughout the beginning of fall season.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona men’s tennis team will start its 2013-2014 campaign this weekend in Las Cruces, N.M. at the New Mexico State Fall Invitational. The Lumberjacks will face some tough schools including the University of Arizona, New Mexico, Western New Mexico and Abilene Christian. The Lumberjacks return four players in junior Kester Black, junior Alan Barrios, sophomore Sarp Laleli and junior Trevor Unger. In his first season as the Northern Arizona men’s tennis head coach, Ki Kroll brings in four newcomers to his program.

Ki Kroll Named Head Men's Tennis Coach
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Ki Kroll has been hired as the new head coach of the Northern Arizona men’s tennis team, announced today by Dr. Lisa Campos, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics. Kroll brings an extensive coaching experience, including the collegiate, tennis club and youth ranks, with him to the Lumberjack men’s tennis program following the last three seasons at the University of Southern Mississippi.
