OGDEN, Utah – For the third time in four weeks, Northern Arizona's Brooke Andersen garnered the Big Sky "Women's Field Athlete of the Week," while teammate Paige Gilchrist joined her with the "Women's Track Athlete of Week" honor announced Monday afternoon.

For a team that preaches progression and becoming better each week, Andersen has been the definition of that. At Mountain T's last Saturday, Andersen completed her climb up the conference record book in the weight throw event, flying past former No. 1  Maureen Griffin with a 68-5.75 (20.87m) bomb in the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome.

Previously this season, the native of Vista, Calif., broke the NAU weight throw record at Friday Night Duels while moving to fifth all-time in the Big Sky records, surpassed that mark at the Lumberjack Team Challenge the following week to slide up to No. 2 all-time, and now holds sole possession of the conference's top spot.

Currently, Andersen's record-breaking mark is, of course, first in the Big Sky this season and sits at No. 11 nationally as of today. Andersen is now 3-for-3 in event victories in 2017 and has six career weight throw wins under her belt.

If not for Andersen, it would have been Gilchrist highlighting the weekend for the Lumberjacks. In the women's mile event on Friday night, Gilchrist smoked the competition and ran a career-best time of 4:40.38 after altitude adjustment. That mark bested her previous PR by 23 seconds and currently ranks first in the conference this season.

Gilchrist, who calls Missoula, Mont., home, now finds herself up amongst the NCAA's best as well: that altitude adjusted time slides into 23rd-best in the nation. The redshirt-junior also ranks third in the Big Sky's 3000m in 2017.
