JACKS WIN

We've be working on defense, rebounding and free-throw shooting over the past few weeks and it paid off in our game Saturday versus Utah Valley University. The final from Orem, Utah - NAU 80 - UVU 66. We out-rebounded UVU 46-33. Twenty of our rebounds were on the offensive end. Erikka Banks hauled in 19 rebounds, while Priscilla Brooks and Brittani Lusain collected 13 and 7, respectively. Brittani also gave a stellar defensive effort, holding UVU's leading scorer to 14 points under her average. As a team we shot 80% (20-25) from the charity stripe.

We head out today for a two game road swing in southern California. Tomorrow we take on UC Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday we play Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles at 2:00 p.m.

GREAT PAIRINGS

Romeo and Juliet . . . Wine and cheese . . . Peanut butter and jelly . . . Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. One more pairing to add to your list . . . NAU Lumberjack Basketball and Flagstaff Snowbowl Skiing.

The lifts are open! Flagstaff Snowbowl Ski Resort offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding in Arizona. There is currently a 20" base. The snow-making machines are dropping new snow every day and the forecast calls for Mother Nature to add more natural powder this weekend.

Next Saturday, December 14th, we play a rare double-header with our men's team. We kick the festivities off with an 11:30 a.m. Skydome tip-off versus the University of Texas - Arlington. Our men's team will then take on the Antelopes of Grand Canyon University at 3:00 p.m. Exciting NAU basketball on Saturday and a Snowbowl ski day on Sunday sounds like a winning combination!
