We have an even more exciting and opportunistic stretch in our upcoming schedule. After finishing the first round of Big Sky play last weekend with a road split (a win over Weber State, 96-87, and loss Idaho State, 82-72), we start the second round of Big Sky play with three of four games at home.
The excitement begins in the Skydome tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. versus Sac State. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Arizona and tape delayed at 11:00 p.m. on Fox Sports Pacific. Monday we head to Cedar City, Utah to play Southern Utah. We return home next Thursday to take on Portland State (live at 12:00 p.m. on Fox Sports Arizona and Fox Sports Pacific) and cap the homestand off with Eastern Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday (live on Fox Sports Arizona).
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH - NAU vs Sac State - Wine Down/Play 4Kay Day - The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. floor level in the Skydome. Participants will be treated to massages, wine, beer and snacks. The Wine Down will be held in conjunction with Play 4Kay Day for Breast Cancer Awareness. Wear pink and get a $3 discounted ticket. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH - National Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic - The NAU athletics department will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) for the second straight year. The clinic starts at 3:00 p.m. in NAU’s Rolle Activity Center and is open to all youth, both boys and girls, in 1st-8th grade and requires pre-registration. After the clinic, participants will attend the NAU men’s basketball game against Southern Utah (tip-off 6:30 p.m. in the Skydome). To register for the clinic, please click here.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH - The First Annual NAU Women’s Basketball Field Trip Day - Hundreds of local school children from around Flagstaff and northern Arizona will participate in a day of fun which includes clinics, lectures, lunch and our midday game vs Portland State.
NAU students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to join in the fun! Grab your lunch and head over for some midday excitement. Tip-off vs Portland State in the Skydome is at 12:00 p.m.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH - National Girls and Women in Sport Day Meet and Greet/Halftime Recognition - Participants from the NGWSD clinic are invited back to campus for a meet and greet and halftime recognition at the NAU women’s basketball game against Eastern Washington on Saturday, February 15th at 6:30 p.m.
Our lone senior, Amanda Frost (Riverside, CA) shares her thoughts on the start of the second round of Big Sky play: “It’s a new ball game, we are working hard, and I have faith that we will do what it takes to win every game from here on out.”
