FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team is officially in and a part of the ever growing #Chillin4Charity campaign. Last week, the NAU coaching staff and sophomore guard Rene Coggins were issued challenges and earlier this week, the challenges were accepted and completed as evidenced by the videos below.
Head Coach Sue Darling and her assistant coaches Jamie Shadian, Robyne Bostick and Karlie Burris took to Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona to complete their challenge. They took full advantage of Grasshopper Point and did their unique take on the #Chillin4Charity challenge by jumping right into the canyon.
Coggins meanwhile took the conventional route, but nonetheless sat as she was doused with two coolers of ice water in response to her challenge from Jordan Jensen of Iowa State.
The #Chillin4Charity social media campaign continues to spread as the hashtag has been used in over 40,000 tweets, retweeted over 145,000 times and reached over 92 million people as of July 2. Through the efforts of women's basketball coaches, with coaches from other sports joining the cause, as well as television analysts from ESPN and more around the country, the campaign continues to raise money for the Kay Yow Foundation.
