Women’s Golf Finishes 15th at Mountain View Collegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. – Freshman Stephanie Kim carded a one-over par 73 for the second consecutive round to finish tied for 23rd at the Mountain View Collegiate Saturday. Kim led the Lumberjacks to a 15th-place finish after a 306 in the final round.

Kim finished at 226 for the three rounds. Junior Dakin Banta was tied for 34th at 228 after a 76 in the final round. Junior Alexa Kim recorded a 77 to tie for 52nd, while freshman Aleah Kim had an 80 and tied for 70th. Senior Megan Buck improved with an 80 in the final round.

“Stephanie is played super,” said Head Coach Brad Bedortha. “Her game is shaping up.”

Colorado State and Texas Tech tied for the team lead with Colorado State winning the tiebreaker. NAU was just seven strokes out of the top 10, defeating Washington State, Sacramento State and Boise State.

The Lumberjacks next play again on April 5 at the Cowgirl Classic, the site of the Big Sky Conference Championships. The Lumberjacks are the defending champions at the Cowgirl Classic.

DID YOU KNOW…The Lumberjacks had 11 of the 15 intercollegiate teams record a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher led by women’s soccer at 3.42. Women’s basketball was close behind at 3.39, followed by women’s cross country (3.35), women’s golf (3.29), swimming and diving (3.25) volleyball (3.22) and men’s cross country (3.19).
