RIO VERDE, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona women's golf team improved slightly Sunday but remained in 11th place overall after the final round of the Rio Verde Invitational. The Lumberjacks shot 314 in the final round but finished two strokes out of the top 10.
Junior Dakin Banta completed the tournament with a third straight round in the 70s with a six-over par 77 to finish tied for 19th at 230. Freshman Stephanie Kim carded a 79 in the final round to finish tied for 33rd at 234. Junior Alexa Kim had a 78 to tie for 48th, while senior Megan Buck and Aleah Kim tied for 52nd at 238. Buck had an 83 in the final round, while Aleah Kim had an 80.
Playing in the individual White Wing Invitational, junior Bethany Leclair was the top individual finisher in a tie for seventh. She shot rounds of 76 and 82 to finish at 14-over par 158. Senior Lauren Halstead tied for 10th with rounds of 79 and 81, while defending champion Meghan Bremer had two rounds of 84 to finish 18th.
