OGDEN, Utah - Northern Arizona's Stephanie Kim has been selected as the first Black Clover Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week of the spring season.
The sophomore from Tempe, Ariz., tied for 44th at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. Kim, the reigning Big Sky Player of the Year and conference champion, shot a one-over-par 73 in the second round. She opened with an 81 and closed with an 80 for a 234. The tournament was played Monday and Tuesday at the Vistoso Golf Club.
Kim helped Northern Arizona to a 14th-place finish with a 54-hole total of 953. Arizona won the tournament with an 875. Cal was second, followed by Arizona State and Stanford.
This is Kim's third Golfer of the Week honor this season and the fifth of her career.
Northern Arizona was the lone Big Sky team to compete this week. Defending Big Sky champion Portland State opens play on Feb. 14-15 at The Gold Rush Tournament hosted by Long Beach State.
