2010-11 Women’s Golf Season Highlights

* The 2011 senior class won the Big Sky Championship in 2009, placed second in 2008 and 2011 and third-place finish in 2010. The Lumberjacks won 12 team titles over the last four years and broke numerous school records team records during the span.

* NAU finished second at the Big Sky Conference Championships. The Lumberjacks' three-round total of 891 was the fourth-best team score in tournament history and second lowest non-winning score. The total would have won 16 of the previous 18 tournaments.

* Sophomore Stephanie Kim was named the Big Sky Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Senior Alexa Kim was chosen for the All-Big Sky first-team and senior Bethany Leclair was an All-Big Sky second team selection.

* Senior Bethany Leclair finished with a five-under par 67 in the final round and finished second overall in the tournament. Leclair's five-under par 67 broke the NAU school record and reset the Big Sky Championship record. Portland State's Yada tied the previous mark of four-under par 68 in the second round set by Sarah Kuykendall of Sacramento State (2005), Taya Battistella of Portland State (2003) and Stephanie Kim of NAU (2010).

* NAU has won four tournaments: the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational, the Cal Poly Lamkin Grip Women's Invitational, the Red Rocks Invitational and the Lumberjack Shootout at Wigwam. The four tournament titles ties the school record for wins in a season set in 2009-10.

* NAU shot a seven-over par 871 for the three-day event, posting rounds of 287-292-292 to break the 3-round tournament school record by 26 strokes at the Lumberjack Shootout at Wigwam. The previous mark of 897 came last season at the 2010 Wyoming Cowgirl Invitational. All three rounds ranked among the top 10 single-round performances in school history and the opening round 287 was the second-best round in the record books, trailing only the 285 shot at the Grand Canyon Invitational in 2009.

* Alexa Kim (Lamkin Grip/Cal Poly) and Bethany Leclair (Lumberjack Shootout at Wigwam) both won individual titles this season.

* Five Lumberjacks combined to win the Big Sky Player of the Week nine times this season. Stephanie Kim and Alexa Kim have each garnered the honors three times each while Kaitlen Parsons, Dakin Whitmer and Bethany Leclair have won the honor once.

* NAU was the preseason pick to win the Big Sky Championship in the 2011 coaches poll, an honor they have earned each of the last three seasons. Portland State won the 2010 Big Sky Championship by two shots over Sacramento State and four over Northern Arizona, which led after each of the first two rounds.
