ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Junior Stephanie Kim rebounded in the second round to post a team-best two-over par round of 75 to lead the Northern Arizona women's golf team at the Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational. Kim was five strokes better in the second 18 holes after an 80 in the first round.
The Lumberjacks were led by sophomore led Kaitlen Parsons, who is tied for 17th in the individual standings. She is two-over par after two rounds, posting rounds of 72 and 76 over the par-73 layout.
"Kaitlen played solid and hit it good today," said Head Coach Brad Bedortha. "She finished with a birdie on the final hole and did a really good job."
NAU is 18th in the team standings with scores of 309 and 314.
The Lumberjacks shot 309 in the opening round Sunday morning led by the one-under par round of 72 by Parsons, who was tied for sixth after 18 holes. Kim and Jabczenski both carded rounds of seven-over par 80 in the first round. Joachim had a season best four-over par 77, while Olson recorded an 84.
The third and final round will be contested on Monday.
