Women’s Golf Fifth at Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Invite

PALM DESERT, Calif. – The Northern Arizona women's golf team shot a 309 in the second round to improve to fifth place after two rounds of the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Invitational.

NAU is five strokes back of Cal-State Northridge and 13 behind host Wyoming with a two-round total of 629 behind two strong performances by sophomore Kaitlen Parsons and junior Stephanie Kim.

Parsons is tied for fourth at four-over par with rounds of 76 and even-par 72, while Kim is four strokes back in a tie for eighth overall after a 78 and 74. Sophomore Jessie Joachim is tied for 40th after 36 holes with an 83 and 80.

Freshmen Melissa Olson had back-to-back rounds of 83 to tie for 52nd after two rounds, while classmate Laura Jabczenski posted rounds of 88 and 90.

The third and final round will be contested on Sunday morning.
