Women’s Golf Continues Play at Wildcat Invitational
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's golf team fell back to 14th in the team standings at the Wildcat Invitational on Monday, shooting a 329 team score in the second round.
Sophomore Kaitlen Parsons led the Lumberjacks with a seven-over par 79, closing her round with a birdie on her 17th hole of the day. Junior Stephanie Kim carded an eight-over par 80 after a difficult finish over the final four holes.
Freshman Melissa Olson recorded an 83 in the second round, improving nine strokes from her opening-round 90. Teammate Susana Mejia had an 85, while Laura Jabczenski shot an 86.
Freshman Darian Spivey, who is playing as an individual, did not play on Monday after shooting an 86 in the first round.
Host Arizona leads the team standings in a field that includes eight teams ranked in the Top 45. The Wildcats shot 14-under par and lead UCLA, the No. 1 team in the country, by 13 strokes entering the final round. The third round will conducted with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
