Women’s Golfer Kim Qualifies for U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Rising senior Stephanie Kim qualified for the U.S Women's Amateur Public Links Championship for the second consecutive season and will play in her fourth USGA Championship event. It will be contested at Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic, N.J., June 18-23.

Kim shot a one-over par 73 at the Whirlwind Golf Club on the Devil's Claw Course on May 30. She tied for medalist honors with three golfers including Dana Finkelstein and Kyung Kim of Chandler and Kristen Schelling of Mesa.

Kim lost in the first round of match play at 2011 U.S Women's Amateur Public Links in Bandon Dunes, Ore. She was eliminated on the 19th hole against Ket Preamchuen of Kennesaw, Ga., after advancing out of stroke play by carding back-to-back rounds of 78. The Tempe, Ariz., product posted a two-day total of 156 to tie for 42nd overall.
