CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Northern Arizona women's golf team opens the 2012-13 season at the Oregon State Invitational Monday with 36 holes at the Trysting Tree Golf Club. The event starts with a shotgun start Monday morning at 9 a.m.
"We are excited," said Head Coach Brad Bedortha. "We have been qualifying to decide our final lineup. There has been some good competition. It should be a good year for us."
The Lumberjacks will play the first tournament with junior Kaitlen Parsons at No. 1. Senior Stephanie Kim will play at No. 2 followed by true freshmen Savana Bezdicek and sophomores Laura Jabczenski and Darian Spivey to round out the playing five.
"We talked about being competitive day in and day out and week in and week out in every tournament," said Bedortha. "I want us to get back to where we are competitive every day."
The 16-team field includes Big Sky Conference teams Eastern Washington, Portland State and Weber State.
