OGDEN, Utah (Sept. 19, 2012) - Northern Arizona's Stephanie Kim has been selected as the Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after tying for eighth place at the Oregon State Invitational.
Kim, a senior from Tempe, Ariz., opened play on Monday in the 54-hole tournament with a 1-over-par 73. She followed Monday afternoon with a 1-under-par 71, and closed on Tuesday with a 73 for a total of 1-over-par 217.
Kim, the 2010 Big Sky individual champion, helped the Lumberjacks to an eighth-place finish in the 16-team tournament played at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore. NAU shot rounds of 305, 299, 309 for a 913. Washington won the event with a 953. Washington's Charlotte Thomas claimed medalist honors with a 211.
This is Kim's seventh career Golfer of the Week honor.

Northern Arizona was one of four Big Sky teams at the Oregon State Invitational. Weber State placed 11th with a 927, followed by Portland State at 928. Eastern Washington was 15th with a 981. A Ram Choi of Portland State finished 12th with a 220. She opened with a 67. Weber State's Amanda Snyder tied for 13th with a 221. Jayme Carbon led Eastern Washington, tying for 63rd with a 238.
North Dakota finished 10th in the 15-team Chicago State Cougar Golf Classic held at the Harborside International Golf Course. North Dakota shot 325-335=660. Indiana State won with a 631. Amanda Fairweather finished 26th for North Dakota (77-86=163).
