  • NAU Athletics Wins Back-to-Back Big Sky Presidents’ Cup

    OGDEN, Utah – For the second straight year, Northern Arizona Athletics has captured the Big Sky Presidents’ Cup presented by Red Lion Hotels. NAU finished first in overall in athletic points for the second consecutive year, in addition to claiming the Big Sky Men’s and Women’s All-Sports Trophies in May.

    OGDEN, Utah – The Northern Arizona men’s and women’s outdoor track & field, men’s and women’s tennis and golf teams placed a total of 41 student-athletes on the spring 2014 Big Sky All-Academic Teams as recognized by the conference office on Wednesday.

    FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona University’s women’s golf team had a season that consisted of both good and bad times. The Lumberjack women’s season ended with a fifth place finish at the Big Sky Golf Championship. NAU graduated one senior in Kaitlen Parsons who will go down as one of the best golfers in school history.
  • NAU Captures Men’s and Women’s Big Sky All-Sports Trophy

    OGDEN, Utah – Northern Arizona has captured both the men’s and women’s Big Sky All-Sports Trophies, the conference office announced Monday. The Lumberjacks went into the outdoor track championship with the lead, and a sweep by the men’s and women’s teams this past weekend secured NAU the win on both sides. The sweep is the first true sweep by any school since 2000-01.

  • Women’s Tennis and Swimming & Diving Rank in Top 10 Percent

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Arizona women’s tennis and swimming & diving were both honored by the NCAA for earning Public Recognition Awards, based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate. These awards are given each year to teams with APRs in the top 10 percent in each sport. This is the second straight year women’s tennis has received the honor.
  • Forty-Three Student-Athletes to Receive Degrees This Weekend

    FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Forty-three Northern Arizona student-athletes will receive their degrees from the university this weekend as part of the Spring 2014 commencement ceremonies. When adding in the 15 student-athletes who participated in the Fall 2013 commencement ceremonies, the NAU Athletics Department produced a total of 58 graduates for the 2013-14 academic year.

    FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee held the inaugural Louies awards show Wednesday night at the Prochnow Auditorium to celebrate the year that was in NAU Athletics. It was a night of celebration, honoring and recognizing all of the Lumberjack student-athletes for their success in the classroom, in competition and in the community.

    OGDEN, UTAH – The Big Sky Conference released its season awards for women’s golf. The coaches voted for the recipients of the Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors on Wednesday, in addition to the All-Conference teams for this season. Northern Arizona’s Kaitlen Parsons and Jacquie LeMarr were selected to the Big Sky Conference’s All-Conference team.

    FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona University Athletics Department held its 36th annual Golden Eagle Awards Tuesday at the High Country Conference Center to recognize its student-athletes for their stellar work in the classroom. Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc., honored 199 Lumberjack student-athletes for their scholastic and athletic accomplishments. The award recognizes student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.
