NAU Golf Facing Early Struggles
YORBA LINDA, Calif. - Northern Arizona University's women's golf team completed day one of competition at the Gold Rush tournament hosted by Long Beach State. The Lumberjacks face some early struggles as the group's performance leave them in 11th place going into the final round of play.
"We did not play our best today," said head coach Brad Bedortha. "Hopefully we can recover and put together a better round to end the tournament."
NAU shot rounds of 321 and 331 as a team on day one of play. The Lumberjacks will be looking to bounce back in their final regular season round before competing in the Big Sky Championships in a few weeks.
Top performer for the team was Kaitlen Parsons who scored rounds of 80 and 82. The senior will need to step up big tomorrow in order to lead the way for her younger counterparts. Also contributing for NAU was Brittany McKee (77-87), Susana Mejia (79-85), Jacquie LeMarr (85-80) and Savana Bezdicek (85-84).
