OGDEN, UTAH – The Big Sky Conference released its season awards for women's golf. The coaches voted for the recipients of the Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors on Wednesday, in addition to the All-Conference teams for this season. Northern Arizona's Kaitlen Parsons and Jacquie LeMarr were selected to the Big Sky Conference's All-Conference team.
Parsons, from Greenacres, Wash., was selected to the first team All-Conference team for the second consecutive season. The senior had a tremendous final campaign averaging 76 stokes per round with six top-10 finishes including a second place finish at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Parsons wrapped up her career here at NAU with a sixth place finish at the Big Sky Conference Championships.
"Kaitlen has been a phenomenal player for us," said Bedortha. "All four years she has finished in the top-10 at the conference championships. We are definitely going to miss her leadership and golfing ability. She will go down as one of the best golfers in school history."
LeMarr, a newcomer from Scottsdale, Ariz., was selected to the second team All-Conference team. Joining the team mid-year, the sophomore got off to a hot start highlighted by a medalist performance at the Red Rocks Invitational. LeMarr averaged 77 strokes per round.
"Jacquie came in and really started the year off strong," Bedortha said. "She struggled a bit to close the season but she was still able to get voted to second team. She will only get better and I think she will be very good for us over the next couple of years."
