FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – NAU continues its historical undefeated start this weekend versus UTEP and Hawai'i. Junior defender Sarah Tarver gave the Lumberjacks the win last Friday night against Grand Canyon behind 1,068 fans, the sixth largest crowd ever at Lumberjack Stadium. Senior goalkeeper Lauren Weaver recorded her fourth shutout of the season, which moved Weaver into second place all-time in career shutouts with 15. She trails only Tori Rocke, who holds the record with 21 career shutouts. Tarver also provided the game-tying assist to sophomore Haley Wingender Sunday against Colorado State. Tarver ended the weekend with three points and the Lumberjacks remain in first place of the Big Sky.


UTEP has defeated the Lumberjacks all three times the teams have faced with the last meeting in 2010 in El Paso, Texas. Hawai'i has defeated the Lumberjacks the two times the teams have met. The last meeting between the two was in 2006, when the Rainbow Wahine defeated the Lumberjacks 2-1 in overtime.

Scouting UTEP

UTEP is riding a two-game winning streak and has won three of its last four games, allowing only two goals in this span. The Miners have received scoring from multiple players with six players having scored this season. Senior forward Jade Babcock leads the team with three goals and two assists for a total of eight points. In eight games, the miners have scored 11 goals this season while junior goalkeeper Sarah Dilling has been solid in front of the net posting a 0.70 goals against average. The miners are currently in fourth place in the C-USA West Division.

Scouting Hawai'i

Hawai'i has had success on the road this season, winning its only two matches away from home this year. The Rainbow Wahine are led by junior forward Tiana Fujimoto who leads the team this season with four goals.  Fujimoto has received most of her assists from junior midfielder Krystal Pascua who has recorded three assists in six games. Pascua leads the team with 21 shots and eight shots on goal. Besides Fujimoto, Hawai'i only has two more goals this season.
