FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's soccer team will begin their spring schedule this Saturday as they are set to play Grand Canyon and BYU down in Phoenix in two of eight matches this spring.
The Lumberjacks will host four matches this April against New Mexico, Embry-Riddle, USL's Sedona FC and in-state opponent University of Arizona. Head coach Andre Luciano and his squad will also head out on the road and face some tough competition including UNLV and Dixie State with both matches taking place at UNLV.
BYU finished the season with an NCAA tournament appearance and finished the season ranked No. 23 in the country. The Lumberjacks will kick off their spring schedule against Grand Canyon who they faced this past season and came out victorious in a 1-0 win in Flagstaff. The Lumberjacks also faced UNLV this past season in Flagstaff in a competitive 0-0 draw. The Sedona FC Strikers are a pro team in the W-League who just came into expansion in 2013.
The Lumberjacks will face off against Grand Canyon this Saturday, Mar. 1 at 11 a.m. at Grand Canyon. After the Lumberjacks' match against the Lopes, the Lumberjacks will then head to Tempe and face BYU at 5 p.m. at Arizona State.
