OGDEN, UTAH. – This afternoon (Oct. 27) the Big Sky Conference office announced that Northern Arizona University women's soccer player Torey Braly was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week. After a crucial two games against Idaho State and Weber State, the senior played an integral role in the Lumberjacks' back-to-back wins this weekend. This is Braly's first Player of the Week honor of her career.
Much in part to Braly's contributions, the Lumberjacks were able to secure the sixth place spot in the current Big Sky standings. Braly has proved to be one of the most versatile threats on NAU's roster and was moved from defender to forward in Sunday's contest over Weber State.
She hit the first game-winning goal of her career in overtime to snap the Wildcats' four-game win streak on senior day. This is just her second career goal as she has played in the backline for much of her career, but it was undeniably the biggest in her four years as a Lumberjack. She had just two looks at goal on Sunday afternoon, but cashed in her second attempt in overtime in the 95th minute.
Northern Arizona has just one conference game remaining against Southern Utah on Friday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. MST. The 'Jacks will look to carry this momentum from the last two games with them to Cedar City, Utah as they get one last shot at qualifying for the Big Sky Tournament.
