U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – NAU junior diver Kristy Ardavanis posted a 245.05 preliminary score to lead four Lumberjacks competing on the 1-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone E Diving Regional hosted by the Air Force Academy. Ardavanis placed 24th overall among the 44 divers from 19 western universities competing on the first of three days at the NCAA Championship qualifying meet.
Ardavanis was just six spots away from being among the 18 divers that qualified for the final. Senior Cassie Anderson had the next highest Lumberjack finish, scoring 231.10 to place 31st, while freshman Kali Lents placed 32nd at 230.90 in her first NCAA Zone event. Senior Holly Frost rounded out the Lumberjack competitors scoring 227.60 and finishing 34th.
Each of the four NAU divers competing at the meet will return to action tomorrow in the 3-meter competition beginning with prelims at 11 a.m.
