USAFA, Colo. – Senior Kristy Ardavanis advanced to the final and placed 16th overall in the 3-meter competition on the first day of the NCAA Zone E Championship at the Air Force Academy.
Ardavanis totaled a 281.95 score to place 16th among the field of 49 divers during the preliminary round to advance to the final. She remained in 16th place in the field of 18 that advanced to the final, scoring 282.45 in the final round to total 564.40.
Junior Gwen Smithberg and freshman Chelsea Jackson each competed at the Zone meet for the first time in their careers on Thursday. Smithberg scored 249.15 to place 32nd while Jackson totaled 227.55 to finish 42nd overall.
The NCAA Zone E meet continues at 11 a.m. Friday with the 1-meter competition.
