DENVER, Colo. – The Western Athletic Conference honored 19 swimming & diving student-athletes on Wednesday for their outstanding work in the classroom with the 2014 Winter All-Academic awards. The Lumberjacks led all WAC winter teams – men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field and men's and women's swimming & diving – with their 19 honorees.

The Northern Arizona swimming & diving team recently received the Scholar All-American Team award by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for posting a team GPA of 3.36 during the 2013 fall semester. As a team, the Lumberjacks have a cumulative GPA of 3.57 with 18 student-athletes posting a fall GPA of 3.50 or higher. Overall, 27 of the team's 29 student-athletes own a grade point average of at least 3.00.

To be eligible for WAC All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year at their respective institution, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and participate in at least 50 percent of the team's contest. Following the completion of the spring semester, several of the team's freshmen will be added to the team's total after completing a full academic year at NAU.
