ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Northern Arizona recorded two singles wins and two doubles victories on a successful Saturday at the New Mexico Fall Invitational. Saturday was the second day of weekend play in the tournament which features players from nine different schools.
In singles, senior Yumi Hasegawa cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Western New Mexico's Emily Lampman. Fellow senior Orsi Golovics faced Gabi Vazquez of UTEP, battling for a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory. The Lumberjacks also claimed a pair of doubles wins, with Golovics and senior Aimee Oki defeating Sara Landsman and Kim Stubbe of Arizona, 8-4, and Hasegawa and sophomore Malia Wahinepio defeating New Mexico's Laura Richardson and Anya Villanueva by an identical 8-4 decision.
The tournament will conclude in Albuquerque on Sunday.
