Women’s Tennis Closes UC Irvine Invite with Three Singles Wins
IRVINE, Calif. – Seniors Orsi Golovics, Yumi Hasegawa and Aimee Oki recorded singles victories to close play at the UC Irvine Fall Invitational. After Saturday's slate of tournament play was suspended by rain, Sunday's action concluded Fall tournament play for the Lumberjacks.
In the top flight of singles play, the Gold draw, Golovics won her third-place match against UC Riverside's Nadia Sakhakorn, 6-3, 6-1. Hasegawa also won a consolation match in the Gold draw with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Taylor Raney of UC Riverside. In the Green draw, Oki won her final match of the Fall with a hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 10-3 victory over Miya Jin of Loyola Marymount.
The Lumberjacks, who finished second in the Big Sky last season, will open Spring team play at the end of January.
