FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona women's tennis team will begin a two-match weekend in Flagstaff for the first time this season as they face the University of Nevada on Friday, Feb. 21 at the Continental Country Club. After Friday's match, the Lumberjacks will head back on the road to face Big Sky opponent Portland State.

Series History

This will be the 15th matchup all-time between Northern Arizona and Nevada with the last matchup in 2012. This will be the 14th matchup between NAU and Portland State and the Lumberjacks have never lost to the Vikings.

Coach Bruno Quote of the Week

"We got a tough home match against Nevada on paper. They have a solid team and for us we are just trying to keep our heads up and keep competing out there. If we do that, I believe we can head up to Portland this weekend and get a win."

First Big Sky Road Match

This will be the first Big Sky road match for Northern Arizona this season as they look to once again compete for a Big Sky title. The last time the Lumberjacks faced Portland State was last year at home as they defeated the Vikings 7-0.

Dynamic Duo in Doubles

Johanna Vang and Tatum Rochin have been off to an exceptional start this season and have won three of their last four doubles matches and are currently riding a two-match winning streak with wins over Lamar and New Mexico State.

Final Non-Conference Matches

Friday's matchup against Nevada will be one of six non-conference matches remaining on the Lumberjacks schedule this season. Northern Arizona has had a tough non-conference this season having faced nationally ranked teams in New Mexico and Arizona State. The Lumberjacks will open March with three matches against non-conference opponents.
