    NAU Women's Tennis on Three-Match Win Streak SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — After an entire day of rain, the Northern Arizona University women's tennis team still competed, clinching a 4-2 win over non-conference opponent San Francisco without playing doubles. The match was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. then moved around to avoid the weather. The Lumberjacks seven-woman squad eventually started play around 3 p.m. and came out with a win before the rain started to pick up again. Northern Arizona is now 3-2 overall this season, winning their last three matches.

    NAU Women’s Tennis Clinches First Conference Win Over Sac State SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Northern Arizona University women's tennis team competed in their first conference match of the season, besting Sacramento State 4-3 early this afternoon. The Lumberjacks dominated the court winning every match in doubles and only dropping three singles matches to the Hornets. Northern Arizona is now 1-0 in conference and 2-2 overall this season.

    NAU Women's Tennis Start Conference Play Against Sac State FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona University women's tennis team will head to California to start conference play this weekend against 2016 co-regular season champions Sacramento State and take on non-conference opponent San Francisco. NAU is coming off of their first home match and first win of the season 5-2 over Grand Canyon. The Lumberjacks are 1-2 with losses against UC Davis and Arizona.

    NAU Women’s Tennis Wins Home Opener Against Grand Canyon FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The Northern Arizona University women's tennis team hosted Grand Canyon Friday night in what was their first win of 2017. The Lumberjacks dominated the court 5-2, winning in doubles and only dropping two singles matches. The 'Jacks are now 1-2 so far this season.

    NAU Women’s Tennis Home Opener Against Grand Canyon This Friday FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona University women's tennis team will host Grand Canyon University Friday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. in the Aquatic and Tennis Complex. This will be the first home match of the season for the Lumberjacks. NAU is coming off of a full week of practice after not having to compete last weekend. The Lumberjacks have played in two matches so far going 0-2 against UC Davis and Arizona.

The Lumberjacks will take on the Wildcats in their lone match of the weekend in Tucson. NAU is coming off a close 4-3 loss against UC Davis, after being rained out against Arizona State.

After being rained out Friday, Jan. 20 against Arizona State, the Lumberjacks are now 0-1 on the season.

    NAU Women's Tennis Looks Ahead to the 2017 Season FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — For the first time in school history, the Northern Arizona University women’s tennis team finished the Big Sky regular season ranked first, and is now ready to start a new chapter under head coach Ki Kroll. Kroll will serve as the Director of Men’s and Women’s Tennis at NAU after coaching the men’s program for three years. Following what was arguably the best season in program history under former head coach Kim Bruno, the Lumberjacks were picked to finish second in the Big Sky Conference behind Sacramento State. Kroll is confident the Lumberjacks will build off of last season and carry that success into the 2017 campaign.

The weekend starts Friday, Jan. 20 against Arizona State and ends Saturday, Jan. 21 against UC Davis. Both matches will be played at ASU.

    Newcomer Chiara Tomasetti is Regionally Ranked FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — For the first time in at least a decade, the NAU Women’s Tennis team is home to a regionally ranked in singles. Freshman Chiara Tomasetti, ranked 18th in the Oracle/ITA Division I Mountain Regional rankings, was recently ranked with athletes from Nevada, UNLV, Colorado, Denver, Utah, BYU, New Mexico and Wyoming.

    Women Ranked Second, Men Ranked Fourth in Preseason Tennis Polls FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — In the 2017 Big Sky preseason poll the Northern Arizona men were voted to finish fourth after a 2016 third-place finish in regular season play behind Weber State and Idaho. The women, defending regular season champions, were voted to finish second by the conference head coaches.

Director of Tennis Ki Kroll will officially welcome Worthy Goldman, a London, England native, in the fall of 2017.

    NAU Student-Athletes Continue to Graduate at a High Rate INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Arizona University’s NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 84 leads the Big Sky Conference, according to a national report released Tuesday. The NCAA developed the GSR for Division I institutions in 2002 in response to college and university presidents who wanted more accurate graduation data. NAU’s rate is the second-highest in the state of Arizona amongst the Regent institutions.

    NAU Women's Tennis Closes Out Action at ITA Regional Championships ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Northern Arizona University women's tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Mountain Regional Championships last week, Oct. 12-14, matching up against some of the strongest talent in the area. Players Eirene Granville, Hailey Rochin, Marta Lewandowska, Hanneke Lodewijks, Blanka Szavay, Chiara Tomasetti and Brandy Walker all competed for the Lumberjacks with Tomasetti leading the way in the win column.

    Rochin, Granville Highlight Strong Weekend at University of Arizona Invitational TUCSON, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona University women’s tennis team competed in its second fall invitational of 2016 at the University of Arizona this weekend, Sept. 30-Oct. 2. Lumberjacks Eirene Granville, Marta Lewandowska, Hailey Rochin and freshman Chiara Tomasetti put together an impressive slate of wins in both singles and doubles action. In doubles, Rochin and Granville won their bracket to finish undefeated on the weekend. Rochin also went 3-1 in singles action, making it to the final round in her draw.

    NAU Women's Tennis Rounds Out First Tournament of the Fall Campaign LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Northern Arizona University women’s tennis team rounded out its first fall showing at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada Invitational this past weekend, Sept. 23-25. Lumberjacks Marta Lewandowska, Hanneke Lodewijks, Blanka Szavay and freshman Brandy Walker all competed over the three-day stretch, combining for six singles wins and three doubles wins overall.
