Volleyball Swept by Portland State, Dallmann Puts Up Double-Double

PORTLAND, Ore. – Freshman Kelli Dallmann recorded her ninth double-double of the season in a 3-0 loss to the Big Sky Conference’s first-place team Portland State on Friday at the Stott Center. Dallmann totaled 17 assists and 12 kills as the Lumberjacks fell by scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-23.

NAU (8-15, 5-9 BSC) played better as the match went along hitting .053 in the first set, .194 in the second, and .245 in the third. The Lumberjacks totaled 18 kills in the third set equaling the total in the first two sets combined.

Dallmann, whom has been rotating between setter and outside hitter all season, totaled team-highs in kills and assists on Friday. The freshman from Peoria, Ariz., was the only Lumberjack in double digits for kills and also collected a team-high .265 hitting percentage.

Portland State (18-7, 12-2 BSC) has been one of the best teams in the Big Sky this fall and proved so once again defeating the Lumberjacks in straight sets for its ninth home win of the season. The Vikings had three players in double-digits for kills including Whitney Phillips who tallied a match-high 16 with a .278 hitting percentage.

For the match, Portland State outhit the Lumberjacks .285 to 169. The Vikings totaled a match-high .439 hitting percentage in the second set.

NAU will play Eastern Washington on Saturday, November 14 at 7 p.m. in Cheney, Wash. The Lumberjacks have two regular season matches remaining on their schedule.
