FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona football senior Patrick Baldenegro and women’s basketball senior Rene Coggins were honored as the Golden Eagle Scholar Athletes of the Year on Tuesday during the 39th annual Golden Eagle Awards luncheon. A total of 190 student-athletes across all 15 of NAU’s athletic programs were honored at the High Country Conference Center.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Deserving of the honors, seniors Jensen Barton and Lauren Jacobsen, redshirt sophomore Brittni Dorsey and freshman Abby Akin were recognized by the league's head coaches on Wednesday with spots on the All-Big Sky teams. Barton and Jacobsen were voted to the First Team, while Dorsey and Akin were selected to the Second Team. Akin was also named the conference's Outstanding Freshman. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Arizona University’s NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 84 leads the Big Sky Conference, according to a national report released Tuesday. The NCAA developed the GSR for Division I institutions in 2002 in response to college and university presidents who wanted more accurate graduation data. NAU’s rate is the second-highest in the state of Arizona amongst the Regent institutions.

POCATELLO, Idaho – Senior Jensen Barton tallied her third triple-double of the season, but the Northern Arizona volleyball team was edged by Idaho State in five sets Saturday night, 17-25, 26-24, 11-25, 25-13, 18-16. The Bengals denied the Lumberjacks on three match points, and handed them their third conference loss. NAU is now 21-6 and 11-3 in the Big Sky heading into the final week of the regular season.
OGDEN, Utah – If senior Lauren Jacobsen's milestone night was the headline of the night, the Northern Arizona volleyball team's balanced attack was not far behind on Thursday's storylines. After an up-and-down road trip last week, the Lumberjacks enjoyed the confines of their home gym in ramping up a 25-17, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18 victory over Portland State behind a huge presence at the net. On Thursday, NAU hosts Portland State at 7 p.m. to kick off Homecoming Week on campus. NAU then hosts Sacramento State at 12 p.m. in a showdown between Big Sky South Division co-leaders on Saturday. The two matches will be the first half of a four-match homestand.
