FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -
Isaiah Kennedy set a brand new school record in the men's 60 meter dash with a 6.65 performance as the Northern Arizona University track and field program concluded its regular season by hosting the NAU Tune-Up in the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome on Friday evening.

As of writing, the mark sat in a tie for 33rd in the country with an altitude conversion of 6.69 and was the sixth school record that the men and women have broke this indoor season.

"Isaiah had a bounce back meet tonight," associate head coach Kenny McDaniel said. "Last week in New Mexico he wasn't happy with his performance and knew he could have done better. He had the race of his life today."

Northern Arizona picked up six victories on the evening with Ryan Wolff's win in the men's mile (4:24.72), Khalil Dorsey's in the long jump (7.20m), Kyle Havriliak's in the men's 3000m run (8:54.57), Brooke Andersen's in the women's weight throw (21.89m), Kennedy's in the 60m dash and the women's 4x400 relay team victory with Clarissa Maxey, Jada Jackson, Miracle Onyemaobi, and Helena McLeod (3:52.31).

It was the second best throw of Andersen's career and was achieved just a week after setting the NAU and Big Sky record in the weight throw with a mark of 21.95m at the Don Kirby Invitational.

The Lumberjacks also set 23 new personal bests at the Tune-Up in what has been a truly special start to the indoor season.

"We're heading into the championship part of what has already been a magically season on both sides," director of cross country Michael Smith said. "With all these school records and personal bests set I think what we are seeing is that this is a pretty unforgettable couple of teams. We're looking to make what's already been a great season even better at the Big Sky Championships next week."

The Lumberjacks return to the track by hosting the 2018 Big Sky Indoor Championships Thursday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Walkup Skydome.

"Being at home, we're going to bring another level of excitement," Smith concluded. "I think our athletes are most comfortable competing here at the Skydome and you can expect that we're going to bring it. NAU fans are going to be in for a good show."
