SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. (October 17, 2023) – The NAU Women's Tennis team will return to action this week on the campus of the University of Utah in the ITA Mountain Regionals.
Featuring Big Sky Conference foes Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, and Weber State, the regional event will see all six of Northern Arizona's student-athletes represented in the singles and doubles draw in Salt Lake City.
In addition to the Big Sky opponents, the field also consists of Air Force, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, UNLV, Utah State, Utah Tech, UTEP, and Wyoming.
The regional tournament will mark a second straight ITA-affiliated event for sophomore Patrycja Niewiadomska, who competed at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, on Sept. 30.
Last season at the ITA Mountain Regionals in Las Vegas, the Lumberjacks received four singles wins in the first two days of play. This included victories from Niewiadomska and Ava Neyestani. Neyestani would eventually reach the Round of 16 at UNLV.
Play will begin from the Utah capital starting Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. Tournament information for the ITA Mountain Regionals can be found here.
