Abby Akin was named the Big Sky's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season following averages of 2.88 kills and 2.25 blocks per set in addition to hitting a combined .388 in victories over Weber State and Idaho State. Akin had a historical performance for the NAU volleyball team on Thursday, Sept. 26 when she tallied 13 blocks versus Weber State. The 13 blocks were the most by a Lumberjack in nearly 28 years. Akin followed with a 14-kill performance on .464 hitting versus Idaho State on Saturday, Sept. 28.
