About Student-Athlete Services
Student-Athlete Services are located on the second floor of the Student-Athlete High Performance Center in the Franci and Scott Free Lumberjack Academic Center (Free Academic Center).

Opened in February 2022, the Free Academic Center increased space for Student-Athlete Services from less than 1,000 square feet to more than 7,000 square feet. The Free Academic Center provides student-athletes with individual study booths, meeting rooms for tutoring and group study, state-of-the-art technology for presentations and video conferencing, and a computer lab.

Mission of Student-Athlete Services
Student-Athlete Services support NAU Athletics' mission to develop leaders who compete for championships with integrity and achieve academic success culminating in graduation by:

- Promoting an atmosphere of academic integrity.
- Serving as a liaison between NAU Athletics and campus and external partners.
- Providing student-athletes with academic resources and tools.
- Ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
- Enhancing personal and professional development of student-athletes.
Annual Student-Athlete Services Programming
- Golden Eagle Awards presented by Ginny L. Clements
- NAU Athletics recognizes student-athletes who maintain a 3.0 or above cumulative grade-point-average every Spring.
- Graduation Reception
- NAU Athletics presents athletics stoles to graduating student-athletes.
- Transition to College (NAU 199)
- While open to all NAU students, this course prepares incoming student-athletes for life as Division I student-athletes.
- Money Vehicle
- A financial literacy program offered to all student-athletes.
- Speaker Series
- Student-Athlete Services invites campus partners to speak with student-athletes and coaches throughout the academic year.
- Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
- SAAC represents the voice for student-athletes who discuss institutional, conference, and national issues that affect the student-athlete experience.
