Geordie Beamish placed first in the men's mile last Friday, Jan. 17 at the NAU track & field Lumberjack Team Challenge. He ran a time of 4:07.15, which dropped to 3:58.17 after altitude conversion. His mile time is currently the third-fastest in the country. Beamish, the defending national champion in the men's indoor mile, was named the Big Sky Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance.
