Soccer Honored with NSCAA College Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The
National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has released
its list of the 2008 NSCAA College Team Academic Award with the
Northern Arizona women's soccer earning recognition for
academic excellence as a team for the sixth consecutive year.
The Lumberjacks concluded the 2008 season with a 12-7-3 overall
record and their first Big Sky Conference Championship in school
history. NAU advanced to the 2008 Women's College Cup but was
defeated by No. 2 Portland in the first round.
NAU was one of three league members to receive the NSCAA Team
Academic Award. Of the three schools, NAU posted the top
grade-point-average (3.37) and was the only team to reach the
postseason. Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado were the two
other Big Sky member schools to earn selections.
